Blue Lagoon Beach Resort
Arriving at blue lagoon there were loads of people getting off, a contrast from the previous day.
The resort was so nice and modern compared to Naqalia; there were proper beds, the showers had hot water and there was air conditioning. Not to mention the food was amazing. I felt like a king!
The resort was fully booked and there were a large mix of people there, single travellers, couples and families. During the day it was pretty much a relaxing beach holiday, sun bathing in the day and good food and drinks at night. It was pleased that I had chosen to stay three nights at the resort.
There was a trip to the local primary school and village which was a really interesting. The children sang to us and knew all national anthems of the guest that attended. In the village we went market stall where I bought a cool shark tooth necklace as I was told it meant good luck. I now feel like a true traveller with my authentic Fijian necklace.
One of the nights provided an amazing orange sunset, unlike any I have seen before. Beautiful. That night we had a movie under the stars with popcorn which was pretty cool. The next day I went to visit the cave pool. It was a fresh and salt water pool within a cave. There was another chamber which required swimming through a passage. The guide in next chamber shone a light underwater and all you do is swim to the light. It was much easier than I assumed as you get pushed one end and grabbed the other, hardly any swimming was involved. The chamber appeared totally dark as the previous cave was open air, after a while once the eyes had adjusted you could roughly see the outline of the walls and roof above. We were told that there were eels in the water, luckily you couldn’t see them in the dark. Back in the main cave there was a natural diving board formed out of the wall of the cave which someone dived off. I tried it get up there but it was near impossible, you would need Spiderman to get up.
Me and my other dorm buddies didn’t want to leave and we tried I stay longer. I would defiantly recommend this resort to anyone, it has everything for anyone. The staff were also the happiest and friendliest I’ve met so far.
